"The first wealth is health."
                          -- Ralph Waldo Emerson

The reported average return on investment of 3:1 resulting from corporate wellness programs is compelling.

The list of business benefits derived from spending on preventive health is extensive and notable:

+  Lower medical claim costs
+  Eligiblity for lower premium health insurance options
+  Improved immunity and lower absenteeism
+  Reduced productivity loss due to presenteeism
+  Higher levels of energy
+  Greater efficiencies in time management
+  Ability of employees to take on additional physical tasks
+  Sharpening of mental and interpersonal skills
+  Enhanced creativity
+  Reduced stress and better focus
+  Attraction and retention of top talent

Preventive initiatives help to maintain and improve health.  Good health enables us to better handle adversity.  One can not put a value on the wisdom and strength that come from being able to meet unexpected challenges head-on.  Healthy employees have more confidence, more energy, sharper intellect, and a keener sense of purpose.  Healthy employees insure a healthy company.

The AWAKEN program incorporates a financial wellness component.  The monetary challenges presented by an uncertain economy, coupled with any negative financial impact resulting from unexpected life events, can create a double-whammy of stressful issues.  Financial stress can compromise one's health, which in turn impacts one's income earning ability, often creating a slow downward spiral.  By taking a proactive approach and building both a strong body and a strong financial foundation, we gain the ability to face future challenges with ease and grace.

AWAKEN's affiliated educators include certified specialists in nutrition, fitness, reiki, financial planning, tax planning, mortgage financing, and many other related fields.  Each professional has designed programs to help employers and employees tap into some amazing resources.

HOW CAN WE HELP TO AWAKEN YOUR BUSINESS POTENTIAL?

Our mission is to provide a subtle common-sense approach to creating a healthier corporate culture, at minimal expense, and with minimal disruption, to day-to-day business operations.  We can do in a number of ways like...

...recommending simple objective measures of overall success, starting with confidential collection of biometrics that each indivdual obtains from their PCP during the annual physical exam.  Financial health can be assessed through a fact-finding interview to help create a confidential financial profile for an individual or family.  These objective baselines are simply tools for measuring progress.

...offering suggestions of easily-learned behavior modifications, that each individual can adapt to their own needs.  Committing to drinking more water can have a significant positive impact on a person's health.  Good water IS the Fountain of Youth.  Cutting back on purchases of coffee or soda, and reallocating that money into a savings account can have a huge impact on a household budget.

...proceeding step-by-step, introducing one small positive change upon another, to determine the ease and effectiveness of the lifestyle modification. Wellness activities can be altered as required to keep moving forward in a postive fashion..

...enhancing the program by connecting businesses and employed individuals to independent educators/professionals who excel in their field of expertise.

Imagine the potential opportunity for human resources to create 3:1 impact along with real personal and corporate growth!  Now's the time!
AWAKEN!

PROFESSIONAL GROWTH
"Growth and change are natural and necessary for life.  Throughout our lives, we grow physically, emotionally and spiritually.  It would be folly to tell a child to stop growing!  Yet, as adults, we may resist our own growth and expansion."

AWAKEN is a wellness program that introduces concepts and methods that are targeted to alleviate stress.  The approaches are simple, scientifically-based, and holistically enhanced. Workshops can be adapted to a range of audiences.  Employers/managers and their workers are under pressure, balancing the demands of work and home, emotionally, financially, and physically.  School-age students are challenged with the stresses brought on by parental demands, peer pressure, and self-imposed  expectations.  The elderly face yet other challenges.

The AWAKEN philosphy is adaptable to schools, churches, community centers, and senior centers.  There exists a real need to reduce stress and the incidence of stress-induced illnesses such as diabetes, heart disease, and cancer, along with concurrent health care costs and productivity costs.  This effort begins with education.

KNOWLEDGE Is as simple as asking, "Did you know that 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated and do not even realize it?  Did you know that drinking five glasses of water daily can cut the risk of breast cancer by 79%?"  Eight glasses a day have been shown to ease back and joint pain in 80% of sufferers.  Facts and stories lead to further discussion and the implementation of a four-week campaign we call The Drinking Challenge.

ENERGY boosts are as simple as instituting a once-a-week before-work or lunchtime group walk to get bodies circulating.  Blood gets circulating, people circulate amongst one another, and ideas start to percolate.  Employees get outside of the walls of the office and outside their habitual boxes of thinking to engage in some creative problem solving through guided activity and casual conversation.  This can also offer a healthy outlet to vent pent up frustration.

Meanwhile, instruction in proper walking posture strengthens core muscles.  The result is not only a greater sense of
positive energy, but also synergy.  For more info walking for health, click here.

NUTRITION is as simple as letting us share a creative and healthy lunchtime soup and salad menu, so that we can introduce the concept of Volumetrics eating.  Or we might let you in on the secret code of the "Doctrine of Signatures"... For more info on nutrition programs, click here.

AWAKEN wellness-enhancing activities are not "work," but rather "play" that's gets incorporated into the day to bring balance to the workplace.  Play enhances our creativity and our productivity.

We introduce concepts and set goals for activities that are easy and attainable.  Presentations and workshops can be custom-designed to address specific challenges or interests.  Ideally, activities are designed to provide support and improve the organizational culture, to solidify relationships through teamwork, and to fit within a schedule that is acceptable to management (coffee breaks, lunch-hour sessions, afterwork wind-downs, workshops, or even weekend retreats).
