DRINKING CHALLENGE

   Workplace poster reminders: "Drink Water"

 

What could be more basic to "life" than H20?  Did you know that 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated and do not realize it?  This is perhaps the number one cause of poor health.

The human body is composed of more than 75% of water and some body tissue consists of over 95% of water!  With insufficient hydration, cells draw water from the bloodstream, pressurizing and burdening the heart.  That is why it is so important that we drink at least 8 glasses of water every day. 

Why is it that in our search for the ultimate detox, we’ve overlooked the ideal detox aid?  A free, natural resource we’re in touch with every single day of our life: WATER.

Introducing "The Drinking Challenge" - On an index card draw a row of eight circles along one line.  Do this six more times on the lines below.  Each line represents a day.  Each circle represents 8 ounces of water.  Keep this card in your pocket and fill a circle each time you sip a full glass of water.  Try to drink four glasses before noon, and don’t chug the water.  Take an occasional sip for better absorption into your body.  The challenge can be implemented at work, at school, or at home, to see who can fill the most circles on the card. 

This program (1) includes weekly single-page sheets, that build a knowledge base about the benefits of drinking quality water and (2) posters that can be downloaded and printed to display in cafeterias, in restrooms, and by water coolers.
