This introductory half-hour session will engage participants in NIA (Neuro-muscular Integrative Action), a fun fitness program that blends elements of the Martial Arts, Dance Arts, and Healing Arts to build up our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual energies. Additional benefits include cardiovascular conditioning, weight loss, enhanced flexibility, stability and improved posture. The NIA Technique stresses systemic movement for all 13 joints in the body, and stimulation for all 7,000 nerve endings in your feet. Sandra will address the following questions:
What exactly is neuro-muscular
interpretive action?
How has NIA been used in therapy
and with what kinds of results?
How can the practice of NIA help
us to improve our breathing?
